K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, has expressed strong condemnation towards the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader, from his parliamentary membership on Friday. In a statement, KCR described the disqualification as a "black day in the history of Indian democracy," and stated that it is the pinnacle of Narendra Modi's arrogance and dictatorship.

KCR further criticized the Modi government, stating that it is not only abusing constitutional institutions, but it is also using the highest democratic platform, which is the Parliament, for its malicious activities. He emphasized that the current time is unfavorable for democracy and Constitutional values, as Modi's regime has overshadowed the emergency.

The President of the BRS further stated that the harassment of opposition leaders has become a norm, and Modi is disqualifying opposition leaders to protect criminals and cheaters. KCR called on all democrats to openly condemn the BJP government's misdeeds to protect democracy and Constitutional values in the country.

KCR further emphasized that it is not a time for conflicts among political parties, but rather a time for all democrats to resist the evil policies of the BJP.  Since Congress and BRS are on opposite sides of the fence, one may not expect kind words for Congress but KCR has kept aside ideological differences and vocally supported anti-democratic moves of Modi. Clearly, he is a role model in ethics-based politics.
