In the state of AP, the BJP has been repeatedly saying that they will come to power in the upcoming elections and are claiming that they are the alternative opposition to the Telugu Desam Party. The latest results of the MLC elections are being seen as a fitting reply to the aggressive over-action of the BJP leaders. In the elections held for Uttarandhra East Rayalaseema West Rayalaseema constituencies, BJP has not retained any deposits. In Uttarandhra, its MLC Madhav was in fact the incumbent. According to latest results, the number of invalid votes is more than the votes polled by the BJP candidates.

It is clear that voters are least bothered about BJP and they are totally of the view that the interests of the state are being trampled by the Narendra Modi government. The special status was not given, while Visakhapatnam special railway zone is not going ahead properly, and no proper funds are being given for Polavaram and most importantly Vizag Steel Factory is being privatized.

This is also a valuable lesson for Telangana BJP. Traditionally, the BJP has been strong in Telangana in certain segments. But by being fully non-cooperative with the BRS government and unable to fetch any major central projects or funding for the state, they have been making tall claims that they are the ones to storm to power in the upcoming assembly elections. Many feel that the defeat in Andhra elections holds a strong hint for Telangana BJP too. Praising Narendra Modi or Amit Shah will make no difference unless they win the hearts and minds. Opposing BRS for the sake of it will definitely backfire on the saffron party in Telangana.
