The Delhi Liquor Scam has become a matter of political controversy in Telangana, with the name of Chief Minister KCR's daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha being linked to the scandal. The ruling party, BRS has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of political vendetta, while the BJP has claimed that the central agencies are just doing their job.

When Kavitha was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the case, the political fight intensified. The BJP's Telangana chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar reportedly made some objectionable comments about Kavitha, which received criticism from the BRS and the Telangana Women's Commission.

Bandi Sanjay's comments, in which he questioned what else the central agencies would do other than "kissing" Kavitha if they didn't arrest her, were seen as inappropriate and raised eyebrows. The BRS leaders held protests against the BJP leader and burned his effigy, while the Women's Commission asked for a probe and submitted notices to him.

In response, Bandi Sanjay's office claimed that the comments were taken out of context and that the phrase he used is common in Telugu language. The issue remains controversial and has become a matter of public debate.
