The last three days have created quite a bit of anxiety in the Congress circles across India. This is due to the statement given by Sonia Gandhi which almost confirms she is now stepping down from active politics and will become an ordinary worker who will give her support from behind. The worst affected are the Telangana Congress folks.
Well, it is known that Sonia was responsible for granting the separate state of Telangana in the most unconventional way. Since then, the Telangana Congress has been hailing Sonia Gandhi as the goddess who gave Telangana and they leveraged this point to the maximum. Now, the elections are soon approaching and the Telangana Congress wanted to take maximum advantage of that.
However, with Sonia's move they are now in a tight spot. The reason being, they can no longer use Sonia's name as the leader and Rahul Gandhi is yet to create that impact among the people of Telangana. Some are now saying that Mallikarun Kharge might become the chief of Congress but truth be told he has zero charisma as a leader or an orator. Given that, how will the Telangana Congress manage to run the show and how can they even gain some traction. This is a challenge for Revanth Reddy for sure.
