TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu cleverly took over the party in 1995 and he has been ruling it ever since. From his family, Babu will definitely contest elections along with Nara Lokesh. Nandamuri Balakrishna is confirmed from Hindupur assembly segment.
However, Babu is reportedly not keen on allocating seats for additional aspirants from the Nandamuri family. Suhasini, daughter of Hari Krishna is planning to enter the fray this time for Vijayawada East but there is already intense competition here and no vacancy. She earlier contested unsuccessfully from Kukatpally in Telangana elections.
Chaitanya Krishna, son of Jayakrishna is also reportedly seeking a seat for him from Guntur or Krishna districts but the TDP leadership feels that in view of a possible alliance with Jana Sena, they have to sacrifice few seats. Then, there is also a very high competition for existing seats and hence no more tickets may be given to the Nandamuri family.
