Despite the conclusion of the MLA quota MLC election, the political turbulence in Andhra Pradesh continues. The latest development involves rebel Janasena MLA, Rapaka Varaprasad, who recently defected to the ruling YSRCP and has made a startling claim against the opposition TDP. Rapaka alleges that the TDP offered him a whopping Rs 10 crore to vote for their candidate in the MLC polls. According to Rapaka, his close friend KSN Raju was also approached by the TDP to purchase his vote. Furthermore, Rapaka claims that he was directly approached and offered a large sum of money in exchange for his vote. He has shared this information with close associates.

Despite his defection to the YSRCP, Rapaka maintains that he was not paid for his vote by the ruling party. He states that he joined the YSRCP of his own accord, driven by a desire to promote development and progress in his Assembly constituency. Rapaka asserts that the YSRCP has a strong presence in the Assembly and does not need to purchase MLAs from outside.

Rapaka further claims that his support for the YSRCP is based on his admiration and loyalty towards CM Jagan, and that he turned down the offer of Rs 10 crore from the TDP because his integrity and loyalty are more important to him. Rapaka alleges that several other YCP MLAs were also approached by the TDP to vote for their MLC candidate.

Meanwhile, rebel YSRCP MLA Kotamreddy Sreedhar Reddy has accused Rapaka and four other rebel TDP MLAs of selling their votes to the ruling party in exchange for support for their preferred MLC candidates. Overall, the MLC election has brought forward the general election fever much earlier in Andhra Pradesh.
