Sources close to former chief minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy claim that he is planning to leave the Congress party for the second time and join the BJP. Kiran Kumar Reddy had left Congress in 2014 over its support for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and formed his own party, Jai Samaikyandhra Party. However, he rejoined Congress in 2018.

Kiran Kumar Reddy had begun his political career in Congress as an MLA and eventually became the chief minister. However, he had fallout with the party leadership and left in 2014, while others stayed on. It is reported that Kiran Kumar Reddy had requested a national-level position in the Congress party, which was denied, leading to his decision to move to the BJP ahead of the 2024 elections.

Although the BJP leadership has welcomed his decision, it is unclear what position he will be offered in the party and what role he will play in the upcoming election if he joins. Even if he joins, Kiran has been written off ten years ago for good from politics and regarding Andhra BJP, the less said the better. No one has a clue how this new found love for both will sustain?
