It has been almost a month since Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, an MLA from the YSR Congress party in Nellore (rural), expressed his dissatisfaction with the party and made harsh comments about its president, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Kotamreddy openly declared his intent to contest the next election from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) if party president N Chandrababu Naidu gave him the  opportunity, and pledged his loyalty to the TDP. The YSRC leaders claimed that Kotamreddy rebelled against the party only after meeting with Naidu and Lokesh.

Surprisingly, the TDP has remained silent on the Kotamreddy issue, and there is no evidence of the MLA joining the TDP at this time. Both Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh have not endorsed the candidature of the disgruntled MLA, since the TDP cadre in Nellore (rural) is totally against Kotamreddy's entry into the party as Kotamreddy troubled TDP cadre in the constituency until recently.

Naidu is therefore cautious about admitting Kotamreddy into the party because he believes that the local cadre may not cooperate with him and the party. TDP may consider admitting him only without any conditions. Otherwise, his condition can be best described as neither here nor there.
