A conservative and religious patriarch named Balram leads his family of four, including his wife Janaki, daughter Shivani, and son Sonu, on a spiritual journey to Rameswaram. Unfortunately, their trip takes a tragic turn when Janaki dies in an accident, leaving the two kids with their father. The situation becomes more complicated when Balram refuses to accept help, which goes against his beliefs. However, a resident of Rameswaram, who is a friend of the cab driver involved, along with another friend, takes it upon themselves to assist the grieving family in returning Janaki's remains to their homeland. Despite many obstacles, they are determined to help the family through this difficult time. Ayothi is a Tamil-language thriller drama directed by R. Manthira Moorthy and featuring M. Sasikumar, Preethi Asrani, Yashpal Sharma, Anju Asrani, Pugazh, Advaith Vinod, Bose Venkat, Prabhu Ganesan, Kalloori Vinoth and Winner Ramachandran in significant roles.
