According to a recent media report, the self-proclaimed godman and fugitive Nithyananda's fake nation, the 'United States of Kailasa,' has duped at least 30 American cities that signed agreements for a "cultural partnership" with the so-called country. This revelation comes after the city of Newark in New Jersey rescinded its "sister-city" agreement with Kailasa, which was signed earlier this year.

Fox News anchor Jesse Watters revealed during a prime-time television show that more than 30 cities in the US, including Richmond, Virginia, Dayton, Ohio, Buena Park, Florida, and others, have signed cultural partnerships with Kailasa. He criticized these cities for not researching the legitimacy of the country and blamed them for falling for the scam.

Nithyananda is an Indian fugitive and a so called god-man who is wanted on several charges of rape and sexual assault, which he denies. He claims to have created Kailasa in 2019, which is a movement founded and spearheaded by members of the Hindu Adi Shaivite minority community from Canada, the United States, and other countries. The country is not recognized by the United Nations, and it is unclear whether it actually exists or is fictional.

Despite this, Kailasa's website claims to have a flag, an economic system driven by gold currency, an emblem, and a passport. Its Twitter handle has also called for applications for e-visas for e-citizenship. Last month, representatives of Kailasa were seen at two UN public meetings in Geneva in a bid to gain recognition and acceptance at an international forum.
