The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is conducting a four-day course called "Immersing with Indian Thoughts," which has participants from the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, among other countries. The Ministry of External Affairs sent out the invitation, and the course is part of India's efforts to engage with the Taliban in Afghanistan without officially recognizing the regime.

The online course, which started today, is being offered through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme, with all partner countries invited to participate. The course aims to provide a deeper understanding of India's business environment and the latent order within its diversity. It also offers an opportunity for participants to learn about India's economic, cultural, social, historical, legal, and environmental landscape.

In addition to the Taliban delegates, officials and executives from other countries are also attending the course. The organisers hope that the programme will facilitate a better appreciation of India's unique business environment and cultural heritage.

In the recent months, India has been slowly reaching out to the Taliban who too have reciprocated India's gestures and have been slowly keeping Pakistan away from too much leverage in Kabul. Taliban needs Indian assistance at a time when Afghanistan has been shunted away from the world's financial system through sanctions.
