A woman of Indian descent has perished in a tragic incident whilst her daughter and their flight instructor sustained injuries from a minor aircraft collision within the New York locale on what was noted as a "demonstration flight" based on reports from the media.

The small four-seater single-engine Piper Cherokee airplane, which Roma Gupta, 63, and her 33-year-old daughter, Reeva Gupta, were aboard, reportedly emitted smoke within the cockpit prior to plunging and erupting into flames near houses located in Long Island as disclosed by NBC New York TV channel.

While returning from the Republic Airport on Long Island, the airplane went down and led to the loss of Roma's life. However, Reeva and the 23-year-old flight instructor were admitted to the hospital due to serious burns as stated in the report. Reeva remains in critical condition, having been rushed to Stony Brook Hospital with third-degree burns.
