The COVID-19 pandemic caused immense pain and trouble to the world, with only a few countries managing to develop vaccines for the deadly virus. The vaccines played a crucial role in preventing the tough conditions the world would have faced without them.

India, America, and Russia were among the countries that developed vaccines, but the Russian vaccine, Sputnik V, did not receive as much applause as the others, with concerns raised about its credibility and safety.

Recently, one of the creators of Sputnik V, virologist Andrey Botikov, was reportedly strangled to death with a belt at his apartment. While investigations are ongoing, there are suspicions that an intruder killed him following an argument.

It is worth noting that critics of Russian President Vladimir Putin have been dying under dubious circumstances, including opposition leaders and business tycoons. Some recent deaths in Odisha were reportedly Putin's critics, although it is unclear whether there is any link between these deaths and Botikov's murder.
