The United Nations (UN) has stated that it will not take into account any declarations made by representatives of the United States of Kailasa (USK), a fictional country claimed to be founded by Nithyananda, a fugitive Indian guru.

The USK representatives had attended two official UN committee meetings held in Geneva last February, but the UN deemed their submissions as irrelevant. Nithyananda, a self-proclaimed guru, is facing several charges in India, including rape and sexual assault. He has denied these allegations and maintains that he established the USK in 2019. However, the appearance of USK representatives at the UN events generated news in India, and the Indian government has not released a public statement about the matter.

In 2018, he asserted that he had purchased an island situated off the coast of Ecuador and established a new nation named Kailasa. The UN's disregard for USK's submissions could be a significant blow to Nithyananda's claim of legitimacy for his so-called country. The USK's participation in the UN meetings was likely intended to give an impression of international recognition, even though it is not recognized as a legitimate nation by any government worldwide.
