In 'Music Shop Murthy', the theme of living with your undying passion is explored through the character of a 50-year-old man (played by Ajay Ghosh), who runs a small-time music shop in a village. When he comes across a hippie young DJ (played by Chandini Chowdary), his dormant wish to become a musician comes to the fore, making him run away to Hyderabad in pursuit of an impossible dream. His wife (played by Aamani) and his daughters are left in the lurch. Will he have the last laugh?
Touted to be an emotional and hilarious drama, the upcoming release has been written and directed by Siva Paladugu. Produced by Harsha Garapati and Ranga Rao Garapati of Fly High Cinemas, the musical family drama also features Amit Sharma, Bhanu Chandar, and Dayanandh Reddy.
Speaking at the teaser launch event, Ajay Ghosh said that the film brings out the friction within a middle-class family, whose patriarch with two daughters goes against all odds in trying circumstances. "It is one thing to be an achiever when the situation is favourable. It is another thing to be one when everything is ranged against you. The latter is what Murthy's life is about," he added.
With cinematography done by Sreenivas Bejugam, the film's music is by Pavan. Mahesh Poloju and the composer have written the lyrics. The film is edited by Bonthala Nageswara Reddy. Moin Master is the dance choreographer.
