The success of tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' franchise has inspired many filmmakers to aim for pan-Indian markets with grand fantasy or historical movies. However, not all of them have succeeded, with some big-budget films like 'Puli' and 'Sanghamitra' being shelved or failing at the box office.

Despite this, some Tamil producers are still claiming that their upcoming movies will be bigger than 'Baahubali', including the team behind #Suriya42, a period drama starring Suriya in five different roles and Disha Patani as the heroine. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja, the owner of 'Studio Green' banner is making a period drama with star hero Suriya.

The movie is directed by Siva who made 'Vivegam', 'Veeram', 'Vedhalam', 'Viswasam' and 'Annatthe' and features music by Devi Sri Prasad. While Suriya is expected to give his best, some are criticizing the claims of being bigger than 'Baahubali' before the release. The teaser is set to be launched in April with the release date to be announced later.

The film is reportedly being made on a massive budget as a magnum opus and is expected to mark a grand project for Suriya who has lagged behind the race recently. The constant comparison of the upcoming film #Suriya42 with the 'Baahubali' franchise by some Tamil producers is receiving criticism for being unnecessary.
