During the Oscar campaign, Rajamouli, the filmmaker behind "RRR," informed Western media that his father, a frequent collaborator on scripts, had proposed an idea for a sequel to the film. Rajamouli emphasized that they are seriously considering the idea after "RRR" won the Oscar for Best Original Song. However, he did not provide a specific timeframe for when work on "RRR 2" would begin.

Rajamouli is expected to commence work on his next film with Mahesh Babu later this year, which typically takes two to three years to complete and release. As a result, it remains unclear whether he will actually work on "RRR 2" or if he was simply sharing news with the Western media for their entertainment.

If Rajamouli decides to move forward with the sequel, it may not be a right deal. "RRR" was a success, but not something outstanding. The film has no sequel value. Rajamouli knows this better. So, how can he step into RRR sequel is a big question. Many feel that Rajamouli is just telling lies to the western media.
