Samantha starrer 'Saakunthalam' directed by Guna Shekar is a pan India mythological film based on the story written by Poet Kalidas. The film was announced for a release on February 17th and everything was being wrapped up as per schedule but now sources say that the film is being postponed for its release.
Earlier the movie was expected to hit screens on November 8th but it got postponed as the filmmakers wanted to have a 3D element, to make it on a big scale. The teaser released recently reportedly earned negative reviews that it is not as per standards.
Hence, the VFX team is reportedly working on making it more efficient quality wise and hence, similar to Prabhas' 'Adipurush' movie, even 'Saakunthalam' is being improvised to bring a better output to impress pan India audiences. This may have pushed the film further, probably for a summer release.
