Each era in the film industry is marked by certain trends which become a rage and become popular. We have seen how sequels were the mainstay till recently. This trend started around 10 years ago and the success of Baahubali motivated even other filmmakers to repeat the same magic. Now, we are all set to see a new age of prequels for super hit films and interesting content based films.

The success achieved by Kantara, a Kannada film is well known, with more than 400 crores shared across the world in different languages. Now a prequel for this movie is in the offing and script works are being readied for it. Now sources say that a Chiranjeevi movie might be going into the same trend very soon.

Chiru's recent release 'Waltair Veerayya' created a new record for the Megastar with record collections and the film was a mass treat to the fans of Chiranjeevi. Now sources say that Mohan Raja directed 'God Father' might be soon going to the set for a prequel. The film is a remake of Malayalam hit 'Lucifer'. The film which released last October earned an average talk but the filmmaker is keen on making a prequel and achieving success this time.

Even in Malayalam, a prequel for Lucifer is getting ready with Prithviraj Skumaran all set to direct Mohan Lal. Soon, this movie may be remade in Telugu by Mohan Raja with Chiru again in the lead role. The script seems to be meaty enough and even Chiru may be coming on board to work for this prequel movie of Godfather.
