Vijay Devarakonda has become an icon of sorts for the youngsters, particularly after his rage hit in the form of Arjun Reddy. While Pellichupulu made him noticeable, it was Arjun Reddy that lifted him to the skies and made him a surprise star. After this film, Geetha Govindam endeared him to the family audience like anything and this signalled his arrival as a real star who could quickly conquer Tollywood.
Although his craze remains the same, he has lost his midas touch with family and class audience to be honest, after his recent choice of films because many feel that he hasn't come out of Arjun Reddy hangover. The disaster of Liger made it more obvious and now he seems to be taking a conscious choice to resurrect his career, by becoming more cautious about his scripts.
After choosing to work for Khushi alongside Samantha, now he is all set to repeat a hit combination, with almost the same team of Geetha Govindam. Director Parasuram is all set to direct Vijay in a new film. Dil Raju will replace Geetha Arts 2 while all efforts are being made to bring in Rashmika Mandanna once again to star with him. They are considered a lovely pair with a very good chemistry, with alleged real time romance too blooming between them.
Dil Raju had earlier booked a slot with Vijay that was supposed to be directed by Mohankrishna Indraganti but the same combination is being worked out with Parasuram. Vijay is eager to make a comeback because in the current trend of the film industry, not having a hit could make one fade away in no time. He needs a hit for sure and there is also the need to appeal to all kinds of audiences to retain the fan base. In this regard, there is a lot of burden on him to prove that he is not just a few movies wonder. Hence VJ seems to be taking a lot of care to make sure that the successful combination proves worthy once again.
