Film fans all over the country are expressing their joy as the Naatu Naatu song from the film RRR won an Oscar. Along with movie stars, politicians are also reacting to Naatu Naatu getting an Oscar. It is a great thing to get the Academy Award when it is not nominated on behalf of the Indian Film Federation.

The Indian Film Federation did not send a song like Naatu Naatu to Oscar due to lack of proper judgement. It is known that the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli persistently tried for Oscar nominations with faith in his film and song. The films that went officially on behalf of the country did not get a place in the nominations, but the films that went directly to the country got an Oscar entry.

Hence there is a widely prevalent opinion that good films, songs, technicians are unable to compete for the Oscar award even though they deserve it. Politicians, industry circles and film lovers are criticizing the government. It was at this time that Oscar award winner A R Rahman responded.

He expressed the opinion that eligible films from India are not going to Oscar, adding that some ineligible films have officially gone for Oscar nominations on behalf of the country. There are many films that are considered to be excellent films even though they did not achieve great commercial success. It is felt that the Indian Film Federation is failing to judge them properly and sometimes political bias too is creeping in. In a way, Rahman has spoken on behalf of everyone about revamping the official Oscar nomination process from India.
