Instagram has reportedly launched a new tool which will help you to understand, if your posts are blocked from being recommended to other Instagram users. Till now, users were not informed if the intervention by a platform implied that posts did not appear in other people's feeds. This process is usually called "shadow banning".
However, Instagram doesn’t make use of this term. According to its developers, this new tool will be informing users if any restrictions are placed on their account since they may have breached certain rules. Mr. Adam Mosseri, the Head of Instagram added that this decision is more for the purpose of transparency. Instagram users can also edit or delete posts that are not conforming to the platform's rules. They can now appeal to Instagram in case they feel that their content was flagged in error.
