Amplus Solar plans to construct 7.5 KPTA distributed green hydrogen plants in Andhra Pradesh with an estimated investment of INR 1,500 crore, according to an announcement made on Tuesday. The company has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh government to install a number of decentralized green hydrogen plants throughout the state.

Amplus Solar intends to establish the hydrogen plants to meet industrial demand, and it aims to be a major contributor in India's quest to become the world's green hydrogen hub. The manufacturing hub of Andhra Pradesh, which includes sectors such as petrochemicals, glass production, cement, and fertilizers, provides a larger customer base for the service, according to the company statement. Furthermore, the state's favorable geography offers significant potential for renewable energy production.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Amplus Solar and the Andhra Pradesh government is the company's first step in actively contributing to the growth of the green hydrogen sector. The collaboration with the state government will allow for the implementation of multiple decentralized green hydrogen plants throughout Andhra Pradesh. The company's CEO, Sharad Pungalia, expressed his desire to contribute significantly to India's efforts to become a global green hydrogen hub.
