It has been 14 years since the Sri Lankan government declared that the LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran is no more. In what is being seen as a shocking claim, that is yet to be verified for its authenticity, a veteran politician of Tamil Nadu Pazha. Nedumaran has made a sensational claim that Prabhakaran is alive and healthy, adding that the dreaded boss of LTTE will be soon making a public appearance.

Prabhakaran, the founder of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) waged a massive guerrilla campaign for a separate Tamil nation to be carved out of the island nation. He was declared dead by Sri Lanka on May 18, 2009 following a sweep of LTTE held areas by the Sri Lankan army at Mullivaikal. Mahinda Rajapaksa was the country's President at that time.

Mr Nedumaran, the chief of the World Tamils Confederation said that he is more than happy to announce this to the world, and soon there will be a fresh announcement for Tamil Eelam. There were claims that the pictures that were circulated then showing his dead body were faked and he may have fled to South East Asia.
