America Opens Saturday Slot In India For Visas
To reduce the issue of visa processing delays in India, the US Embassy in India has announced the opening of special interview slots on Saturdays for first-time applicants and sources say that it is working innovatively to enhance the strength of its consular staff.
The Saturday slots were allocated for the first time ever at the Embassy in New Delhi as well as the consulates operating in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad consulates for accommodating applicants who are scheduled for in-person visa interviews.
By March 2023, many temporary consular officers from the capital city of Washington and other embassies are expected to land in India to increase the current processing capacity, according to a press release.
